Threads of Zen in Theosophy part 2 & 3.

Threads of Zen in Theosophy, part 2 is on Osvald Sirén - The Principles of Ch’an in Art: Hui Neng, Linji etc.and in part 3 is placed together, "A Trans-Historical Dialogue: Osvald Sirén and Shin’ichi Hisamatsu." I have taken extracts from Sirén, as a Theosophic Perennialist and from Hisamatsu as a Rinzai Zen Teacher and luminary of the Kyoto School of philosophy. (for biographical information on HIsamatsu see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin%27ichi_Hisamatsu and for biographical information on Osvald Sirén see http://www.pointlomatheosophicalmysteryschool.org/ It is unlikely that Sirén and Hisamatsu ever met or had contact, and though Sirén had visited Japan, he more frequently made his scholarly studies of art in China before the second world war. It is because of their resonance of thought and view in their comments on Linji that these comments by Sirén and Hisamatsu have been juxtaposed next to each other in a kind of trans historical dialogue. -ed.
