Enso Meditiation Retreat Rotating Header Image

Our Mission

The mission of Enso is to provide both place and curriculum for engaging in the practices of Meditation and Presencing, opening us to the discovery our genuine core of being.

This practice is one that clarifies our inner world, resolves emotional dissonance and opens us to what Robet Bly termed ‘enthusiasm for the vertical dimension’.

* The Zen act of touching presence is always transformational…resolving and releasing deep emotional fixation and attachment.

* Meditation opens the window of our life through curiosity, to wonderment.

* Meditation through persistent effort leads to more and deeper ‘moments’ and continuity of ‘Presencing’.

*…this point in time’ is our most intimate guide and friend…its continuity is ‘presencing’

* Presencing enhances our innate capacity for holding ambiguity and bringing harmony to both inner and outer conflict

* Engaging contemplative presencing is the ‘chop wood, carry water’ base of spiritual practice. This is the discovery of that rooted center that is at the core of our humanness that pervades all our life activities.

Zen training emphasizes the process of self surrender. With that as a basis, true self can manifest. Zen practice is applying this to life in society, to daily life in ordinary reality.

Because existence is founded upon the ever present state of union, everything already exists in a state of tranquility. However, this state of tranquility is masked from us by our assumption that there is a separation, that there is a
problem.

There is in fact no self which needs to be negated. We merely manifest self in terms of our affection and love for people and our willingness to work. When we manifest in this way the self which is to be negated is already negated.
