ZEN MINDFULNESS MEDITATION

Zen Mindfulness Meditation

There will now be weekly ongoing Zen Mindful Meditation offered through Enso Meditation in San Diego.

Please check calendar for times and locations

This ongoing class will give time for meditation instruction and practice with the opportunity for group support. Each week will also focus on different aspects of ‘life-practice’ as well, with time to share with each other, both challenges and new understandings from our daily practice.

Recommended readings will be drawn especially from Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind by Shunryo Suzuki and The Heart of the Matter by Tsele Rangdrol.

The purpose of zazen is to attain the freedom of our being, physically and mentally. According to Dogen-zenji, every existence is a flashing into the vast phenomenal world. Each existence is another expression of the quality of being itself. … When you do someting, if you fix your mind on the activity with some confidence, the quality of your state of mind is the activity itself. When you are concentrated on the quality of your being, you are prepared for the activity.

Zen Mind, Beginners Mind by Shunryo Suzuki, founder of San Francisco Zen Center

Whether your mind is still or whether it moves, whatever state it happens to be in, in essence it is an unidentifiable freshness, that has neither color, shape, nor attributes. And yet, its unobstructed cognizance is wide awake. Whatever thought unfolds…it is an utter openness…it is totally insubstantial with no clinging to solidity. Without sinking into dull mindlessness, it is utter brilliance, aware and awake. To recognize the natural face of this ordinary mind,… is known as vipashyana, clear seeing.

The Heart of the Matter by Tsele Rangrol, Tibetan 17th century master of meditation

The practice of Zazen meditation brings more laughter in life !
