ENSO TEACHERS

Doug Brackmann, PhD.

Doug teaches and guides ‘Day of Mindfulness’ and the ‘Transforming Negative Emotions through Mindful Presencing’ retreats at Enso. He also shares a six week class in San Diego based on an integral view of the most recent neuro science and meditation research. His background is both in cognitive and organizational psychology.

“I have spent my entire life dealing with anxiety and addictions. When I was 19 years old I started working in a hospital treating addiction, anxiety, and depression in kids and young adults. I was there to help others and but I found that I first had to address my own difficulties. Over my life I have developed a simple set of teachings that come from this personal experience and a ton of reading. The message to all my clients, and myself, stems back to the simple fact that we are all on a search for a way decrease our own personal suffering and increase our heart felt experiences of contentment, happiness, and connection to others. I realized my life’s purpose is to understand addiction, its affects, and why all humans are wired to suffer and live in fear. My goal is to teach you to be your own therapist and create a trusted social support network around you to keep the changes you may make in therapy. I have both the education and deeper personal understanding multiple modes of treatment and incorporate and impart a Mindfulness and Buddhist Philosophy to all my clients that are compatible with all spiritual beliefs.”
